“Our shop is the only JAKIM certified Halal Korean restaurant in Malaysia!”
JAKIM aka the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia is the agency responsible for examining and giving halal certifications in Malaysia.
The owner, Justin Park is from Korea and as the name “Sweetree” reads, Justin hopes to provide a comfortable dining environment for his customers to enjoy themselves.

“I love Malaysia so much that I immigrated here a long time ago!” Justin has presented his love for Malaysia through his restaurant. A huge tree stands in the middle of the place, representing Malaysia’s rainforest with branches and leaves spreading across every corner of the restaurant. So every time you step in here, it’s like you’re stepping into mother nature!
“Our concept is FUN” says Justin,
who is responsible for the store’s design: The fish on the walls symbolizes freedom, the rainforest concept symbolizes Malaysia’s nature, the floors represents the ocean, the walls represents the Earth while the ceilings represents the sky. All in all, Justin recreated the feel of ‘home’ through his designs.
As for food, Sweetree had recently introduced their own barbeque series. You will be given a selection of ingredients such as meat, mushrooms to grill and some kimchi jjigae and clam soup to warm your stomach. If you are a fan of k-dramas, you’ll definitely be familiar with takeaways! Their takeaway box is delicate and well-designed: Do order a box of fried chicken and seafood pancakes to enjoy at home while binge-watching k-dramas!
