“I’ve been travelling to Hong Kong since young and fell in love with the culture, especially cuisine!”
Hong Kong culture is special to the owner, Ron, as he was deeply captivated by Hong Kong’s broadcast industry from a young age and had often visited Hong Kong with his family. He mentioned that Kam Kee Cafe was originally a food stall at Shau Kei Wan and it has been 53 years since the opening of the shop in 1967. “Kam Kee Cafe closed down in 2012 after struggling with increments of rent and cost”. After rebranding in 2013, Kam Kee Cafe has opened branches all across the country and Starling Mall’s Kam Kee Café is their first overseas branch, bringing the local flavour to Malaysia.

“We prefer to make every dish from scratch”
When it comes to Hong Kong cuisines, we often think of Kim Gary or Wong Kok with their fast food concept. According to the owner, Ron, Kim Kee Café does reflect the authentic taste of Hong Kong. Their chefs and bakers spent a month in Hong Kong studying the brand's secrets. Thus, the ingredients and way of cooking for each dish are identical to the original. At a time where traveling to Hong Kong is impossible, Kam Kee Café is the best place to satisfy your cravings. The Hong Kong team even visited and examined the cafe before its official opening to ensure everything is perfect!
For a light and simple breakfast, their signature French Toast is a must-try. The savoury taste of peanut butter and honey on crispy bread will enlighten your taste buds! During teatime, have yourself a cup of milk tea brewed from Hong Kong imported tea leaves. (Tip: Try it without sugar to get a better taste of tea!)If you prefer something light, have some porridge with pork and century eggs for a comforting, simple yet fulfilling meal. Lastly, you can’t miss out on the stir-fry tomato, egg and beef rice. Let the taste do its magic!
"Our decorations are mostly imported from Hong Kong to resemble the original atmosphere."
Kam Kee Café did not only keep the authenticity of food, but the overall café design as well with close attention to details. The green and white tiles, rattan lampshades and blue fencing intertwined modernity and timelessness perfectly; Don’t forget to take a close look on the tableware and the naming of the menu, you might just find a cute little surprise.
All in all, come to Kam Kee Cafe for some delicious Hong Kong cuisine locally without having to splurge on plane tickets! Taste guaranteed.
